The FM Radcap PCIe offers seamless recording of multiple radio stations concurrently. With flexible frequency settings via software, each station's audio is presented as a standard Windows audio input device, with added support for RDS decoding. Utilizing a high-speed A/D converter, the Radcap digitizes the entire FM band, accommodating up to 32 individual tuners. Its cutting-edge technology ensures minimal audio distortion, thanks to linear phase filtering and precise FM demodulation and stereo decoding performed within the FPGA fabric. By default, the card supports 6 stations but can be expanded to accommodate 12, 18, 24, or 32 stations for an additional fee. Fully implemented drivers for Windows and Linux platforms, now supporting RDS on both, are provided. The Windows package includes a 64-bit WDM driver compatible with Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, 2019, and Windows 11, alongside software for tuner frequency settings and audio monitoring. Additionally, a programming API and DLL are included for software control and monitoring. The Linux driver, based on Alsa, supports Kernel versions from 3.8 onwards. The card offers versatile operational modes, including stereo, mono, or paired mono (combining two mono stations into a 2-channel audio stream). Multiple cards can be installed in a single PC, subject to available CPU bandwidth. Audio de-emphasis settings of either 50us or 75us are available, catering to different regional standards. Supplied with the card is the FMSpectrum utility for Windows, presenting the RF spectrum from 85MHz to 111MHz using data from the card's front-end 256-point FFT. This tool aids in antenna placement optimization and interference troubleshooting, enhancing overall performance.
