The Coles 4040 made by Coles is a professionally designed studio ribbon microphone that comes along with an extended, flat frequency response made suitable for use in capturing vocals and instruments along with pristine transparency and detail.

The pressure gradient ribbon transducer is created capable to withstand any high sound pressure levels having no distortion and the bi-directional (figure 8) polar pattern is capable of providing a uniform pick up response at either side of the diaphragm.

The 4040 is possible to remain flat beyond 20 kHz, and maintaining a uniform frequency response at the vertical and horizontal planes at the same time. The bi-directional pattern is made to prove valuable during the time of capturing multiple singers, ambiance capturing, musical instruments and more.
