Audio MA-2.2 |
TheBuzz
Audio MA-2.2 has been designed by active recording
engineers to provide the cleanest possible interface between
microphones and recording channels. By utilizing our own proprietary
Class A amplifier modules (the BE-40), attention to power supply
design and a resistor loaded C-Coupled input topology, the MA-2.2
exhibits sonic qualities unique in it's class. The
MA-2.2's ultra low noise and noise spectra provides the best
possible dynamic range for digital recordings. With a slew
rate of 140V/uS, we believe the MA-2.2 to be an excellent
choice for recording all types of acoustic music where distortionless
reproduction of transients is critical. Users can expect a
clean, uncluttered midrange coupled with superb treble clarity
and extended bass response. The MA-2.2 sounds great with all
microphone types, and reveals the true acoustic source.
The
MA-2.2 is a development of the original MA-2 first produced
in 1993, with the circuit remaining essentially unchanged.
Nothing is overlooked in the design of this piece. Take a
look at the channel card and also take a look at the matching
MIA1.0 Direct Box adaptor.

Audio SSA-1.1 |
TheBuzz
Audio SSA-1.1 is a NEW stereo microphone and instrument
preamplifier from the Buzz Audio stable. The careful integration
of Class A discrete and monolithic circuitry in the SSA delivers
a vibrant high definition signal path. Users can expect excellent
top end clarity and tight bass punch at a very affordable price.
The
mic inputs of the SSA utilize our proprietary BE40 True Class
A amplifiers as used in the highly regarded MA-2.2. The low
noise high speed BE40 amplifiers provide near perfect amplification
of signals without slew induced and transient overload distortions.
Furthermore, the padless input means the mic signal hits the
front end amps directly, no matter what switch settings you
have.
The
high impedance instrument or pickup input, accessible from
the front panel, features a unique wide bandwith Class A "bootstrapped"
FET amplifier stage which certainly sounds big and open.
The
SSA is assembled and wired by hand and there are no surface
mount components used. The SSA-1.1 styling matches the SOC-1.1
Optical Compressor and together they form a top notch analog
recording chain for ANY application. The SSA-1.1 brings true
hi-fi recording performance within reach of the budget user

System 9098 |
Amek
System 9098 - Dual Mic Amp
Classis Design, Performance and Reliability.
An
Introduction to the System 9098 Dual Mic Amp by Rupert Neve
the Designer.
“The
need for excellent microphone signal quality in contemporary
audio production has never been greater. Although the audio
path is often fully digitized, the microphone remains the
primary interface between the signal path and the real world.
A microphone cannot feed long lines without signal degradation;
lengths in the order of 25 metres can degrade performance
audibly, and even in a normal recording studio cable runs
are often greater than this. Critical importance therefore
attaches to the performance of the microphone amplifier, whether
its output is in the original analogue form or converted to
digital.
The System 9098 Dual Microphone Amplifier follows in the footsteps
of the early 9098 console, the System 9098 Equaliser and the
System 9098 Remote Control Mic Amplifier, sharing many of
the same features and of course impeccable clarity of sound.”

OctaMic |
The
OctaMic includes extended features, turning
it in more than just a combined, dual QuadMic. Thanks to sophisticated
discrete Class-A technology, both state-of-the-art microphone
preamps offer a pristine sound. Lowest distortion, excellent
signal to noise ratio and perfectly linear frequency response
transmit and amplify the microphone signals truly unchanged.
Additionally, detachable rack mount holders and full battery
compatibility make the OctaMic the perfect addition to (not
only) the mobile Hammerfall DSP System.
OctaMic
offers 8 balanced XLR mic / line inputs. Each channel contains
switches for 48V phantom power, a low cut filter and phase
reversal. Amplification can be set between 10 and 60 dB. LEDs
for signal, clip, and activated phantom power give a complete
overview on the unit's status. When the special Clip Hold
mode is activated, any detected clip-state will cause the
corresponding LED to flash once per second. With this, the
user gets a long term peak detection, and no longer needs
to constantly watch the LEDs. At the same time momentary overloads
are still displayed correctly.
Frontside
switches include power on/off and output level, for a choice
of -10 dBV, +4 dBu or Hi Gain (+19 dBu) as reference level.
This unusual feature offers two advantages. First, the reference
level can be easily switched to match any of RME's current
interface devices, from HDSP 9632 through Multiface up to
the renowned ADI-8 series converters. Second, the Signal to
Noise ratio is optimized, and the Clip-LED will exactly match
the ones of the ADI-8 (2 dB below 0 dBFS).
