Electro |
Nord
Electro 2 & Nord Electro Rack 2
Clavia's goal when developing the Nord Electro 2 was to create
the best emulations of traditional electromechanical keyboard
instruments on the market, and to make the instrument compact
and lightweight. Nothing else. No brass banks, no orchestral
sounds. No compromises. Just outstanding electromechanical keyboard
sounds with true feel, from fast keyboard response to authentic
sound.
The organ
in the Electro 2 is based on a digital simulation of the mechanical
tone wheels of the B-3 organ. It offers a number of very innovative
solutions to mimic the typical B-3 sound. The piano section
comprises several carefully multi-sampled electric piano instruments.
As a bonus we also included an acoustic grand piano (concert
model). The Electro 2 also sports a USB interface for quick
and easy download of new piano sounds.
The Electro
2 also features a very flexible effects section including
a Rotary Speaker simulation out of the ordinary. Nord Electro
2 is available in three versions: the 5 octave Nord Electro
2 SixtyOne, the 6 octave Nord Electro 2 SeventyThree and the
19" rack version Nord Electro Rack 2. Both keyboard versions
feature exclusive semiweighted waterfall keyboards and weigh
less than 10 kgs each!

Lead 2 |
Nord
Lead 2 & Nord Rack 2
The 2nd classic! In 1995 Clavia launched the original Nord Lead
Virtual Analog synthesizer. It immediately became a ground breaking
success and set industry standard. Two years later the Nord
Lead was followed by Nord Lead 2 which took the virtual analog
concept even further, adding a number of improvements and new
features.
The virtual
analog concept combines classic ideas with today's technology.
Instead of analog components we use digital signal processors
(DSPs) that we program to emulate analog synthesis. The programming
is made very carefully to reproduce the warmth and richness
of the traditional analog sound. But the virtual analog technique
opens up for much more possibilities than "just"
analog sound. You can create crisp or really nasty "analog-digital"
sounds that widely exceeds the limits of competing products.
Awesome leads, booming basses, frantic techno - at your fingertips.
Every
function has a dedicated knob, just like it used to be in
the good old days. No more complex menus! Total real time
control and instant accessibility make it a breeze to shape
the sounds exactly the way you want them.

 |
| Nord
Lead 3 |
Nord
Lead 3 & Nord Rack 3
With the Nord Lead 3 Clavia takes Virtual Analog to the next
level and introduces the Advanced Subtractive Performance Synthesizer.
‘Advanced Subtractive’ because of the extremely
flexible sound engine, featuring a combination of traditional
shapable waveforms and a very intuitive 2 or 4 operator FM engine.
All this can be routed through the top quality multi filter
for further shaping. 'Performance Synthesizer' because of its
unsurpassed user interface and play control functions such as
keyboard hold, parallel polyphonic glide in legato mode, single-key
triggering of whole chords and even clusters of slightly detuned
voices for super-unison effects.
A very
important thing for creativity is to always have total control
of the parameter settings. The solution is to use high-resolution
rotary encoders combined with circular LED graphs for each
knob. The LED graphs around the knobs guarantee that you always
have total and instant control over your sound! To put it
simple: what you see is what you hear.
The synthesizer
is available as a 4 octave keyboard model with Velocity and
Aftertouch, the Nord Lead 3, and as rack version, the Nord
Rack 3.

Modular |
Nord
Modular & Nord Micro Modular
With the Nord Modular you are able to construct the “synthesizers
of your dreams”. Simply drag synth modules out onto the
computer screen, make your connections using “virtual
patch cords”, and in no time you’ll have your new
synthesizer in front of you.
The innovative
and flexible architecture of the Nord Modular allows for extensive
sound sculpturing. How about a 5-oscillator-per-note synthesizer
with 5 LFO’s, two resonant 24 dB/oct low-pass filters
with separate envelopes or maybe a fat string sound with 14
oscillators – in stereo. Move your body to a mega fat
bass sequence built up with 4 oscillators and a distorted
classic analog lowpass filter in combination with a note sequencer
module. Or, why not a classic 6 operator FM patch for that
“electric” piano sound or a 24 sine wave oscillator
patch for additive synthesis.
All your
patches can be stored in the Nord Modular synthesizer and
recalled later on – also without a computer connected!
Stereo analog inputs open up for extensive sound processing
possibilities. 16-band vocoding, anyone? Nord Modular has
it all. Your imagination is only the beginning...

Alesis Ion |
Alesis Ion: State-of-the-Art Analog Modeling
at an Affordable Price
Developed by innovative Alesis engineering and DSP technology,
the Alesis ION is a high-resolution analog modeling synthesizer
offering breakthrough processing power, real-time control, and
great value.
Built
on a 500 MIPS processor platform (500 million instructions
per second), the ION offers continuously variable wave shapes,
plus sync and FM synthesis. 16 filter types are included,
along with two LFOs, Sample & Hold, and an Arpeggiator—all
of which sync to MIDI clock. The ION has 8-voice polyphony
with 3 oscillators per voice, and is 4-part multi-timbral.
A powerful and intuitive modulation matrix is built in, as
well as a 40-band vocoder that does not use up any polyphony.
The ION
features an ergonomic user interface with 3 variably-illuminating
control wheels and 31 amply spaced control knobs. The knobs
are 360 degree potentiometers with 12-bit resolution, yielding
32 times the resolution of a typical MIDI controller, yet
still compatible with the latest sequencers via NRPNs (Non-Registered
Parameter Numbers). The result is extraordinary precision—void
of any undesirable digital artifacts—and a very “analog”
sound throughout the entire frequency range.
A 160x160
graphic display provides instant visual feedback as a parameter
is edited. The ION keyboard contains 49 velocity-sensitive
keys, 4 analog outputs and 2 stereo analog inputs (all balanced
and using 24-bit conversion), 4 individual insert effects,
a stereo master multi-FX processor, and an internal universal
power supply.

Hartmann Neuron |
Hartmann Neuron's synthesis engine is powered
by pattern-recognition technology conceptually based on neural
networks. It uses models as the basis for sound generation.
These models are comparable to samples and they are derived
by analyzing audio samples. Any auditory event can provide the
raw material for creating and processing sound. The Neuron ships
with some 100 of these models on its internal hard disk. Though
this is a huge store of sound design resources, you are free
to analyze samples of your own, using proprietary ModelMaker
software, and archive them in the form of user models. These
models contain the actual sound as well as the parameter sets
that were captured during neural analysis. Parameter sets are
subdivided in up to 3 levels and they may be manipulated via
the resynators' sticks. (A resynator is comparable to a subtractive
synthesizer's oscillators but it contains one model rather than
the basic waveforms found in a subtractive synthesizer's oscillators.)
That makes Neuron the first synthesizer offering dynamic parameter
assignment tailored specifically to the sound that you select
for processing. All dynamic parameters are controlled via rotary
encoders with an infinite control range. The displays and indicator
panels provide direct visual reference to the settings for the
current program even when switching sounds. Snapshot function
lets you take pictures of every and any stop along your auditory
journey. The unique functionality of the engine mandates custom
displays. Stick controllers are the principal control features.
Every stick is encompassed by 4 cross-X displays showing individual
parameters and current settings. Parameter value changes are
indicated directly, enabling everything from the subtlest to
the most drastic modulations. The mushroom-like contours of
the sticks facilitate effortless handling. A stick may be gripped
between thumb and finger or guided by placing a finger into
a trough on its surface. Envelopes are controlled by means of
rotary encoder wheels and their displays, enabling effective
haptic handling and swift access to parameter values, even those
of entire groups of control features.

| A-Station |
the
new A-Station you get lots of knobs, a 12 band
vocoder, stereo outputs, powerful arpeggiator and, of course,
genuine Novation Liquid Analog Sound.
And what a sound.
You want phatt? You’ve got it. You want trouser flapping
bass? You’ve got it. You want invention. You’ve
got that too.
Awesome
Sound Modelling
The power of the A-Station’s three oscillators has to
be heard to be believed. All three provide the classic waveforms,
including a sine wave for those sub-bass floor-shaking grooves
plus all feature waveform ‘doubling’ with no loss
of polyphony. Metallic and percussive timbres are taken care
of via FM technology, there’s a mean and dirty noise
source and for even more sound making options an external
audio can be used as an oscillator source waveform or processed
through the mixer, filter and envelope sections.
The filters are no less impressive.
State of the art design, these genuine Novation Warm Liquid
Filters deliver the rich, warm sound of an analog filter.
Selectable low-pass, 12dB or 24dB cut-off curves with resonance
and overdrive make it easy to recreate anything from a distorted
TB303® to a tightly rounded bass patch.

| Bass
Station |
Bass
Station re-invents the classic sound of analogue and
provides you with all the prerequisite building blocks of the
sound generation process. With total control.
• Two Oscillators that have been carefully modelled to
preserve the precise tonal character of the classic sawtooth
and square waveforms of the original instruments.
• Low-pass filtering with all the warmth and resonance
often lacking in today’s modern digital synthesis methods
• Intuitive ADSR envelopes - no need to calculate the
complex interaction of endless rate and level parameters
• Low Frequency Oscillation which can directly control
the harmonic content of the sound by pulse width modulation
or filter cut-off
• Oscillator Sync for the most complex and expressive
timbres and most importantly of all, an individual knob or switch
for each parameter to allow you to control it manually as you
play or program
Analogue
modelled Oscillators and that special Bass Station sound
The character of the two Oscillators has been carefully crafted
to provide the classic sawtooth and square waveforms of the
original instruments. The filter has been designed to deliver
the elusive character from of the original Bass Station. Switch
from 24dB to 12dB mode and the filter controls behave in the
same manner as the controls of Roland’s* classic TB303.

| KS4.
KS5 |
KS4.
KS5. The new Liquid Analog Sound synthesizers from
Novation are simply the best sounding, best value, coolest looking
and downright easiest to use synths in their class.
Awesome
Sonic Performance
Being the pure pleasure seeker that you are, you’ll
appreciate that both these instruments feature Novation’s
chilled and unique Liquid Analog Sound. Phatt? Oh yes. Gut
wrenching bass? And then some.
Three powerful oscillators combine with waveform ‘doubling’

the metallic and percussive sounds.
Want more? - You’ve got it, as these superb synths are
also capable of producing classy electric pianos, organs,
basses and leads, plus, you can use an external audio source
as an oscillator waveform or route it through the mixer, filter
and envelope sections.
Cool.
Awesome
Sound Modelling
When it’s pumpin the last thing you need is a user interface
that gets in the way. Slows you down. Turns you off.
No fear of any of that here. 33 knobs and sliders get you
immediate access to where the action is, plus the large, blue
and silver 2 x 20 character backlit LCD screen accepts full
descriptions for program and parameter naming. That’s
right - no more cryptic messages. Recall a named factory preset,
tweak, pull it, bend it to get 'your sound' and instantly
save it in any of the 400 program or 100 performance locations.
But a great sound and easy to use nature are only the start
as the KS4 and KS5, with typical Novation flair and genius,
have other real cute tricks under the hood.
Hypersync™
to the Beat
Taking a staring role is Hypersync. Another unique Novation
technology, Hypersync means no more individually selecting
and adjusting multiple parameters to create MIDI clock / tempo
synchronized effects.
Just grab and turn the powerful Hypersync edit control to
apply templates (either factory stored or user created), of
musically inspiring synchronisation and effects settings.
Within minutes, you’ll be using Hypersync to create
complex audio motion effects that are perfectly locked to
the tempo of your composition. It sounds great. It’s
time saving. It works.
Simultaneous
Effects and More
You want more?
How about 24 simultaneous effects with a distortion that will
make your ears bleed? A flexible reverb and a synchronized
stereo chorus with incredible depth, are just a few of the
effects available.
Add to this the four stellar arpeggiators, which can be combined
with the two LFO‘s to create jaw-dropping audio motion
effects, a funky 16-band Vocoder for robot and talky effects,
handy drum maps plus the superb semi- weighted with aftertouch
keyboards, and you’ve got two of the the slickest, highest
quality synths available today.

| KS
Rack |
The
new KS Rack synthesizer from Novation features
4 part multi-timbrality, 16 voice polyphony and 4 indi-vidual
audio outputs. The core sound engine uses the advanced liquid
analogue technology from the KS4 / 5 series synthesizers. Other
exciting new features including - HYPERSYNC TM editing, oscillator
waveform tables and drum maps make this the perfect sound source
for the studio or gigging musician.

on, Clear and Responsive Control
The ergonomically designed front panel is inviting, and yet
simple to use with all the important sound shaping controls
immediately available. For ease of editing, the blue and silver
2 x 20 character backlit LCD screen accepts full descriptions
for program and parameter naming -no more cryptic messages.
Recall a named factory preset, tweak it to get 'your sound'
and instantly save it in any of the 400 program or 100 performance
locations. For flexibility, each program held in a performance
is a complete new set of data and therefore, comprehensive
MIDI implementation transmits every movement of any knob,
slider or button and this may be recorded in real-time by
a sequencer.
Hypersync™
Editing Makes Synchronisation to the Beat Effortless
Applying the large number of MIDI clock / tempo synchronised
effects and synthesizer parameters can be laborious and time
consuming. One twist of the powerful HYPERSYNC™ edit
control applies selections of musically satisfying synchronisation
and effects settings. These settings may be edited by the
user and saved as a template. Once applied, the feature allows
for the creation of really complex audio motion effects that
are perfectly locked to the tempo of the musical piece.

VariOS
Tips
Packed with techniques for taking advantage of the VariOS
in actual music production situations.
VariOS
is an open-ended hardware/software system that can be customized
for different needs. With the bundled V-Producer software,
users can create audio-based arrangements while independently
manipulating pitch, time and formant. Load the included VariOS-8
and VariOS 303 software, and VariOS can emulate some of Roland’s
most popular vintage synths—complete with an impressive
array of effects. And since the VariOS module handles all
processing, there is no drain on the host computer’s
CPU.
