  • Soundcraft Si Compact 24 channel Mixing Console at an Affordable price

Posted In: MuzeekWorld Blog | November 1st, 2011 | Comments:
    0

Drawing on the heritage of Soundcraft’s acclaimed Si Series digital live sound mixers, the Si Compact packs powerful digital mixing facilities along with stunning Lexicon effects into a small footprint console. All this and more without compromising a powerful feature set.

The Si Compact 24 features 24 recallable mic preamps plus 4 stereo returns for a total of 32 inputs to mix. Each input is fully equipped with compressors, gates, parametric EQ, high pass filter and delay.

All Si Compact consoles have buses and output processing to match the versatility of the inputs, all mix and matrix busses feature a compressor and parametric EQ and graphic EQ always available on every one of the 25 mix buses.

To complement the channel processing, the Si Compact offers four stereo Lexicon FX processors providing a wealth of sounds and user adjustable parameters.

Flexible onboard expansion I/O options ensure the Si Compact integrates effortlessly with other system components; along with 24 mic inputs there are two pairs of stereo analog line in, AES in and out, 16 analog line outputs, headphone monitor out and a 64×64 channel expansion card slot capable of utilizing any of the Si series option cards, including AES, AVIOM, CobraNet and MADI. The MADI card, as well as being an interface to multi-track recording systems enables linking the Si Compact to the Soundcraft/Studer stageboxes which extend the I/O power and flexibility; but all this power is nothing without control and here lies the core strength of the Si compact; a comprehensive but simple to use control surface.

As you would expect from any Soundcraft digital mixer the facilities are extensive and include legendary audio quality courtesy of EMMA Lite, the same DSP platform that has helped propel the Si Series to industry standard status; this is united with all the reliability, show management, naming of channels, storing & naming cues and and other features that you expect, but what really sets Si Compact apart from all the others is the simplicity of operation.

    • TOTEM – The One Touch Easy Mix; press a single key to mix to an AUX, FX or Matrix bus, the surface and monitoring instantly reconfigure to allow instant mixing to your chosen bus on the faders.
    • BSS GEQ – With a BSS GEQ on every bus there is never any need to assign from a pool of resources and you never ‘run out’ of processing.
    • 1 Control = 1 Function – With each control dedicated to a given function there is never any ‘layering’ of controls or navigating through screens; this allows the Si Compact controls to be labeled on the surface just as they would have been on any analog mixer.
    • Global Mode Controls – A row of rotary controls above each fader assignable at the touch of a button to be GAIN, PAN or HPF for all of the inputs, allowing instant acces to the core functions.
    • Soundcraft FaderGlow – Illuminates the fader slots according to function with clearly defined colors for FX, Stereo, Linked Mono, GEQ, POST Fade Aux, PRE Fade Aux; you’ll never be lost again.
    • Instant Access Keys – Dedicated keys on the front panel for STORE, RECALL, NEXT, MUTE 1-4, TAP TEMPO and more negate the need to dive into screen and context menus.

    • 4 Matrix Busses

  • Roland V System digital Mixers new R1000 48 track Hard Disk Recorder

Posted In: MuzeekWorld Blog | October 25th, 2011 | Comments:
    0

When integrated with the V-Mixing System, the R-1000 is a powerful tool that will help musicians improve their performance, enable sound techs to deliver a better mix and provide a better interaction between musician, band leader and sound tech.

    Fully Integrated System

The R-1000 integrates seamlessly with your customer’s existing V-Mixing System. It installs easily between the Digital Snake and V-Mixer with Cat5e cables allowing the R-1000 to see all 160 channels of audio flowing from Snake to V-Mixer and audio patched to the REAC A and B output patchbays on the V-Mixer.

The R-1000 is seamlessly controlled right from the V-Mixer’s interface for easy patching and arming of tracks for recording along with song selection, marker editing and transport controls.

    * Firmware updates for all V-Mixer consoles will be available from RolandSystemsGroup.com shortly.

    Instant Virtual Rehearsal

Because the R-1000 is seamlessly integrated with the V-Mixing System, recorded multi-track audio can be played back instantly without any re-patching of digital snake inputs from stage or changing to a special mode.

Now musicians can “hop off stage” and instantly hear their rehearsal performance to check for tuning, tempo and an overall understanding of how their playing fits in the mix. Musicians also benefit by not having to replay their instrument so the sound tech can “dial them in”. One pass by a singer can be looped over and over saving their voice while the sound tech works on mixing their vocal.

For sound techs, they can work on the mix later, on their own schedule without needing the band present. The R-1000 also becomes an excellent training tool for new operators or experienced operators wanting to experiment with a new mixing technique.

    Virtual Preamp Control

When engaged, the Virtual Preamp mode allows the sound tech to work on the audio tweaking of a channel including the gain stage on the pre-amp. As the sound tech is working on a virtual rehearsal with tracks playing from the R-1000, an adjustment made to the preamp on the V-Mixer channel will cause the R-1000 to attenuate the signal to simulate changing the preamp on the input. This will also change the physical Digital Snake preamp in the background so it is at the correct level for the next performance.

    * Virtual Preamp control is not available for console inputs

Easiest to Use Recorder on the Market

PC recording is popular for live sound applications but it is still burdened by common computer support issues. The R-1000 is a dedicated hardware appliance built for recording. Roland is the industry leader in hardware recording with hundreds of thousands of hardware multi-track recorders in use around the world. Simple operation from the built-in touch screen interface, Mac or PC RCS (Remote Control Software) and deep control integration from the V-Mixer make the R-1000 simple and accessible to any level of user.
    R-1000: 48-Track Recorder/Player
Dedicated 48-Track Audio Recorder and Player
Ideally Suited for Many Configurations and Applications

The R-1000 is an intuitive stand alone, dedicated recorder/player designed to work with the V-Mixing System in any live event or production. You can also connect and use the R-1000 with any digital console that has MADI output capabilities by using the Roland S-MADI REAC MADI Bridge.

The R-1000 is based on REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) and eliminates the bulk and noise susceptibility typically associated with analog snakes and replaces it with Cat5e/6 (Ethernet/LAN) cable.

  • Yamaha LS9 Refrence Guide

StageMix provides remote control of LS9 functions via a simple, intuitive graphical interface from anywhere within wireless range. The software has been specifically designed to allow engineers to adjust monitor mixes from the performers’ positions on stage, directly controlling mix parameters via the iPad rather than having to rely on verbal directions to a second engineer.
The result is better mixes in less time: a huge advantage during high-pressure pre-show setup. StageMix does not provide remote control of all LS9 parameters, but is focused on the requirements for adjusting monitor mixes on stage.

Lightweight and Compact for Superior Portability and Handling

While maintaining the functionality, sound quality, and operability of high-end Yamaha digital mixers such as the PM1D, the LS9 series consoles are small and light enough to be easily transported and set by a single person (LS9-32 = 19.4 kg, LS9-16 = 12.0 kg). Either of these remarkably manageable consoles can deliver advanced features and performance for a wide range temporary live sound systems as well as permanent installations.

Choose the Model that Suits Your Needs
The LS9 series includes the 32-mic/line input 64-channel LS9-32 and the 16-mic/line input 32 channel LS9-16. With it’s greater input capacity and bus complement the LS9-32 is an idea choice for larger live sound applications with complex input and output requirements, while the LS9-16 offers maximum handling and operating ease for events and smaller live sound applications.

No-compromise Analog Circuit Design Delivers the Best Sound in this Class
The Yamaha PM1D digital mixing console and PM5000 analog console were acclaimed by leading sound engineers around the world for their stunning sound quality. The LS9 series consoles inherit the same type of superior sonic performance thanks to painstaking parts selection and detailed attention to the design of every circuit detail . right down to the power supply and grounding. Of course special attention has been paid to the critical had amplifiers, with outstanding results. Much of the technology developed for the top-end models mentioned above has been unreservedly applied to ensure that these mixers come out at the top of their class.

    Intuitive Interface

Each input channel features a 100-millimeter fader, ON/OFF key, CUE key, and 6-segment LED level meter that allow analog-style hands-on operation of the primary channel functions. Yamaha’s popular Selected Channel interface allows smooth, intuitive access to the more detailed channel functions via a color LCD display and an array of logically arranged encoders. And no matter what display is showing, you can instantly return to the main display by simply pressing the HOME key. This interface has been refined and proven over many generations of Yamaha digital mixing consoles.

16 or 32 Mono Input Channels Plus 4 Stereo Input Channels expandable up to 32 or 64 channels in Two Layers
The LS9-32 has a total of 33 faders and the LS9-16 has 17. The LS9-32 faders control the 32 inputs and stereo output, while the LS9-16 faders control the console’s 16 inputs and stereo output. Since the LS9-32 can handle a maximum of 64 channels while the LS9-16 can handle a maximum of 32 channels, both models feature switchable channel layers with the second LS9-32 layer allowing direct control of channels 33 through 64, and the second LS9-16 layer providing access to channels 17 through 32. Input sources can be freely patched to the channels as required, and a single source can be patched to two channels, for example, with one in the first layer being used for front-of-house feed and another in the second layer for monitoring. Direct LAYER keys allow instantaneous switching between layers. Both consoles also feature four stereo inputs. When you consider the compact dimensions of these consoles, this much input capacity and versatility is a remarkable accomplishment.

    Extensive Channel Functionality
The LS9 consoles feature recallable head amplifiers that cover a wide 72-dB input range, phantom power, phase switching, a high-pass filter, 4-band full parametric equalization, panning with LCR capability.all the basics. But there’s much more. You can choose from two EQ response types, and each channel features two dynamics processors that can be used for gating, compression, ducking, expansion, and even de-essing. There’s even an attenuator (with boost) that makes it possible to take full advantage of he console’s extra digital word length for extraordinary sound quality. No analog console has ever offered this amount of control.

16 Mix Buses, 8 Matrix Buses, Plus Stereo and Mono Buses with LCR Mode

The LS9-32 has 16 analog “omni” XLR outputs on the rear panel, while the LS9-16 has 8. For easy expansion the LS9-32 has two Mini-YGDAI cards slots, and the LS9-16 has a single slot. The expansion slots make it easy to expand the consoles with high-quality analog I/O, or digital I/O in a range of formats. The 16 mix buses can function in either AUX (VARI) or GROUP (FIX) mode. When the AUX (VARI) mode is selected the send point can be set PRE EQ, PRE FADER, or POST FADER. 8 matrix buses are provided in addition to the mix buses, and these can be used for side fill or recorder sends, or anywhere additional sends are required. For easy, efficient monitor mixing a SENDS ON FADER feature instantly assigns to send levels to the consoles faders. The output busses feature many of the same functions as the input channels, including 4-band full parametric EQ and dynamics, for extended output processing capability.

    Virtual Rack with Top-quality Effects

There’s no need for external effect racks with an LS9 console, both models provide a Virtual Rack that’s packed with a complete range of effects that will cover just about any processing requirements. Up to 4 multi-effect processors can be used simultaneously, and you can use as many as 8 graphic equalizers. The internal effect library offers 48 preset effects . including the acclaimed REV-X reverb effects. In addition to the standard 31-band single-channel GEQ units, you also have 2-channel Flex15GEQ units that allow up to 16 15-point GEQ units to be used simultaneously. Both GEQ types allow convenient band adjustment via the console faders, and the channel ON keys can be used to instantly reset the corresponding band to zero boost/cut.

Recall Safe and Recall Focus.Right Down to Head Amp Gain

The LS9 scene memory allows instant store and recall of all console parameters, including head amp gain. The Recall Safe function can be used to exclude specified channels from scene recall operations, making it possible to leave sound effect or MC channels unaffected by scene recall, for example. There’s also the Recall Focus function that makes it possible to specify which function group will be affected by scene recall: head amp, virtual rack, input patch, output patch, input channel, or output channel.

USB Memory Recorder/Player for Convenient Recording and BGM or Effect Playback

The LS9 consoles feature a built-in 2-track USB memory recorder and player that eliminates the need for external 2-track devices for many applications. It’s easy to make live recording direct from the console, and it’s also a convenient way to play background music or sound effects. The USB memory player is compatible with MP3, AAC, and WMA file formats at 96, 128, or 196 kbps.

    Detailed Access Management
LS9 series consoles allow convenient, detailed access management, which can be especially important in fixed installations. User keys (standard USB memory devices) can be issued with different access levels for different users. Access can be controlled in detail, from full console to just a fader or two, as required.

LS9 Editor Software for Enhanced Operability and Programmability

The LS9 Editor is a free software viewer/editor application for Windows-based computers. It can be used online in real time for convenient, flexible metering as well as Selected Channel parameter display. LS9 Editor is also a great way to pre-program console setups offline for significantly enhanced efficiency. In permanent installations different operators can keep their own setups individually, and load them in the console as required via a USB memory device. The Editor program is also a great way to manage safe data backups.

By digitizing the audio input signal where it connects to the network, the AllFrame system keeps analog cabling to a minimum, reducing system complexity and labor costs while delivering improved performance and flexibility.

Instead of soldering, terminating, and testing scores of analog connections, installing conduit, and pulling separate cables for each audio signal, the AllFrame requires only a single Cat-5e or fiber connection. The unit can be powered over the Cat-5e cable or from a dedicated DC power line, using an external power supply (sold separately).

Each AllFrame device supports Cat-5e cable runs up to 400ft (120m) between devices, with no loss of fidelity. With integrated fiber optic connectivity, cable runs can be extended to over a kilometer (multi-mode fiber) or tens of kilometers (single-mode fiber).

As part of Aviom’s revolutionary Pro64 Series, the AllFrame Multi-Modular I/O System provides robust and flexible audio connectivity. Because Pro64′s Auto Mode supports any combination of serial and parallel wiring topologies—without affecting signal flow at any point—I/O points can be placed anywhere an application requires.

This unique family of versatile and low profile monitor systems serves a vast range of demanding applications such as houses of worship, scholastic and corporate auditoriums, nightclubs, and numerous other venues that require clarity of speech, musicality and high power output. M12

The premium, high performance M12 monitor is ideal for any application where low visibility is a key requirement, including televised and corporate events, houses of worship, as well as theater and stage performances. The M12’s high frequency driver is mounted to a molded one-piece asymmetrical horn with a 90-degree pattern at the top and 40 degree at the bottom, allowing full-range monitor output close up or at a distance. This unique pattern delivers even coverage while keeping energy away from stage walls. Available in a 90 x 40 (MX41E-94) or 60 x 40 (MX41E-64) degree coverage pattern, the horns are rotatable for narrower horizontal coverage. Designed for professionals, the MX41E features a Ferrofluid–cooled LF driver, solid birch plywood enclosure, 16-gauge perforated steel grille, heavy-duty steel handles, steel input panel with a Passive/Bi-amp switch, and Neutrik input connectors. The MX41E is voiced for live sound, providing excellent sound projection, exceptional vocal performance, and balanced musical reproduction.

The ultra low profile MX8 and MX10 feature stylish looks and excellent performance capabilities. Using Community’s proprietary coaxial drivers and DYNA-TECH™ driver protection system, these compact monitors provide professional performance at affordable prices. Conical waveguides eliminate the transition anomalies that occur in most square and rectangular horns, resulting in exceptionally smooth phase and frequency response curves. Their coaxial design means that all of the sound emanates from the same point source. These innovations reduce feedback, improve intelligibility, and provide uniform coverage exactly where it’s needed.

    L1® Compact system

    l1_compact_bl_lg.jpg

    • Bose® Spatial Dispersion™ loudspeaker technology delivers sound evenly across the stage and throughout the audience—even to the extreme sides
    • Two ToneMatch® channels with fixed presets for a handheld microphone and an acoustic guitar
    • Integrated bass speaker in power stand
    • Two setup positions: collapsed for smaller spaces or extended for larger ones
    • Ideal for musical performances, mobile DJs, classrooms, business presentations and other events

Introducing the L1 Compact portable line array system. Carry it in one trip. Set it up in one minute. Fill the room with Bose sound.

The L1 Compact system combines conventional PA and monitors into one sleek unit. Positioned behind or to the side of a performer, DJ or presenter, it delivers wide, even sound coverage throughout the stage area and audience—even off to the extreme sides. It’s our smallest, lightest, easiest-to-set-up L1 system, weighing just 29 pounds.

    Big sound. Small package.

Now you can have quality Bose sound for almost any gig, event or occasion. The L1 Compact system is small enough to fit in your trunk or back seat, and its innovative modular design makes setup easy and fast. You can arrange it in either a collapsed configuration for smaller spaces or a taller, extended configuration for larger ones. No extra gear to haul. No heavy speakers to hoist onto stands. No speaker cables.

    A different loudspeaker

The L1 Compact system’s slim loudspeaker distributes sound clearly and evenly throughout the room, thanks to Bose Spatial Dispersion technology. The speaker’s unusual vertical shape makes it distinctly different from conventional PA speakers―and has a very positive effect on sound coverage. Even audience and band members off to the extreme sides hear the same clear, tonally balanced sound as those in front.

The L1 Compact loudspeaker array is smaller than those in L1 Model I and II systems, but it produces comparable horizontal sound coverage. L1 Model I and Model II loudspeakers project sound further with less dropoff of volume than the L1 Compact array.

    Integrated system

With the L1 Compact system, you don’t have to carry a separate amplifier, mixer or bass cabinet: They’re already built in. The system’s power stand includes an integrated bass speaker and amplifier, plus a built-in mixer providing a total of four inputs and two outputs.

Channel 1 is a microphone input with a customized ToneMatch preset for a handheld dynamic microphone. The preset automatically optimizes a handheld microphone’s tone when used with the L1 Compact system. Channel 2 accepts up to three inputs at once, including a guitar, keyboard or other instrument, DJ mixer, MP3 player, laptop or projector. It features a customized ToneMatch preset to optimize the sound of an acoustic guitar.

The L1 Compact system: audio performance, simplified setup and one-trip portability. Only from Bose.

HME DX210 2.4GHz Wireless Intercom System

The HME DX210 is a newly-designed, two-channel intercom system that has advanced the capabilities of the legendary DX200. The DX210’s wired intercom interface is now compatible with Clear-Com’s 2-wire systems, and provides two separate 2-wire and 4-wire interconnections. The powerful 1RU base station supports up to 16 full-duplex and 44 half-duplex beltpacks and/or wireless headsets by linking four base stations. The DX210 is paired with the rugged BP210 beltpack and All-in-One WH210 Wireless Headset COMMUNICATOR®s, which have two intercom buttons (IC1/IC2) with ISO. The system is also backward compatible with the DX200 COMMUNICATOR models such as BP200, WH200 and WS200 (Wireless Speaker Station).

One of the features in the HME DX210 is a digital auto-nulling circuit, which allows users to eliminate the return audio of the wired 2-wire intercom automatically.  The system offers 2-wire circuit protection to prevent feedback from un-terminated 2-wire channels. The DX210 also has an assignable AUX input for program. The DX210 allows for relay (GPO) actuation with ISO function from either base station or any one of the appropriately configured COMMUNICATORs.

    Tempest900 900MHz Wireless Intercom System

Tempest900 is the new wireless intercom system that operates in the 900 MHz frequency band, available in 2- and 4-channel versions and comes fully-loaded with the same set of features, functions and operations as the Tempest2400; including the ability to operate in Normal, Split and Shared Modes.

The difference is that Tempest900 may provide improved coverage in areas where more structural penetration is required and in large enclosed areas where multipath interference would otherwise be a factor.

A single Tempest900 in Normal Mode can support between one and five full duplex wireless users. But, by using a BaseStation in Split or Shared Mode, it can support an unlimited number of users who need to monitor the conversation and can share talk capacity.

A total of five Tempest900 BaseStations can be co-located and connected together via their Partyline or 4-wire intercom connections offering a maximum of 25 Tempest full duplex wireless BeltStations operating in close proximity while maintaining excellent system performance.

    kb1_m.jpg

The KB1 is an innovative product. In this sense it fits perfectly into the K-array brand: innovation and quality.
What makes it special is that it is immediately recognisable as a product which was developed in an environment (K-array) which is orientated towards the “professional” sector.
Some solutions which have been adopted are unique in the entire panorama of products on offer, and are the same as those used in stage setup during concerts (e.g. the medium-high speaker has the ability to electronically vary the height of sound diffusion); the completeness of the instrumentation: the capacity to load different presets simply and at any time from a PC, the control of entry sound through an integrated professional digital mixer, and the ability to electronically modify the extent and the coverage of the sound vertically, make the instrument versatile and applicable in any situation with notable levels of quality; the materials are those present only in concert systems of high calibre: steel, aluminium and wood are high-quality materials, used in professional level products. This system is going to go on sale, inquire for pricing

    What’s New in Version 2.0

Control of Head Amp Gain for each Input Channel.

Scene Memory Management – Store, Recall, Scene Titles and Comments.

This version of StageMix is for use with M7CL FIRMWARE V3.5 OR HIGHER

StageMix provides remote control of M7CL functions

StageMix provides remote control of M7CL functions via a simple, intuitive graphical interface from anywhere within wireless range.
StageMix does not provide remote control of all M7CL parameters, but is focused on the requirements for adjusting monitor mixes on stage.

    Mixer Window

    Zoom

The main page of the StageMix is called the “Mixer” window. It shows the EQ curve, CUE and ON buttons, fader and level meters, and channel names for eight adjacent channels.
Across the top of the screen, all Input, Mix and Matrix level meters and faders are displayed in blocks of eight. This is the “Navigation/Meter Bridge”. Press any of these blocks to select which channels are viewed in the fader strips below.

The color of this button matches those used on the M7CL console. [CUE] and [ON] buttons appear below, allowing the currently active Mix or Matrix bus to be Cued and turned On/Off.

    EQ Editing

    Zoom

    Parametric EQ
One band of EQ can be adjusted at a time. Press one of the green circles to select the band, and it will be highlighted yellow. EQ bands in StageMix are labelled as follows:
    - HP = HPF (input channels only)
    - 1 = Low Band
    - 2 = Low-Mid Band
    - 3 = High-Mid Band
    - 4 = High Band

    Zoom

    Graphic EQ
The upper section of the GEQ setup screen shows GEQ curves and gain levels of all 31 bands. White dot indicates the level position of each band. You can set up each band level by faders shown below it. Settings can be done up to 10 bands at once. Slide the screen to select different bands.

    Head Amp Gain

    Zoom

The head amp gain for each input channel can be controlled using the faders in StageMix. Press the [HA GAIN] button in the lower left portion of the Mixer window to enter HA GAIN mode. This button will turn red and the background behind the channel faders will become red to indicate that StageMix is in HA Gain control mode.

    Scene Memory

    Zoom

From this screen, the parameters on the console can be stored to the Scene Memory, which can also be recalled to the console when selected. Scene Titles and Comments that are shown on this screen can be edited easily by tapping on them.

    etamorphosis of a Legend

    Past, Present, and Future Sound

The JUPITER-80 nods to its past with lethal, multi-layered SuperNATURAL® synthesizer tones so fat you’ll need a knife to cut through it, but that’s only the beginning of what this powerhouse synth will do. Gigging musicians will love the stockpile of essential sounds onboard, including Roland’s famous SuperNATURAL grand pianos, strings, brass, and much more. The JUPITER-80 puts a fast-access user interface under your fingers—a dream for live performance. Its heavyweight design, complete with metal side panels, recalls the legendary JUPITER but with a modern twist.

    Tone Blender

You will love the deep possibilities of the stackable SuperNATURAL architecture and unique features such as Tone Blender, which tweaks values of multiple parameters simultaneously and lets you “Capture” any new combination and save it as a Live Set. Create complex, emotional textures that respond, react, and evolve like nothing you’ve heard before. Tone Blender can also dramatically enhance your live-performance capabilities by letting you assign its multiple parameters to controllers such as the D Beam.

Powerful Live Sets Featuring Four-Tone Structure and Registrations

JUPITER-80’s sound engine handles four x tones with dedicated DSP per tone as a basic unit “Live Set” for manual performance. Layering of Upper and Lower Live Sets, plus a specialized “SOLO” part, means the incredibly massive nine-tone-stack sound. Customized complex settings can be saved as Registrations, and easily recalled during live performance
