Tempest TMP-B224 Performance:
The BaseStation comes standard with a single whip antenna (RP-TNC RF connector) and an RJ-45 connector for the (optional) Remote Transceiver. Redundant data transmission (2xTX) provides time and frequency diversity yielding outstanding RF performance. The CAT 5/6 cable also supplies power to the remote transceiver. An additional RJ-45 enables remote monitoring and control of the entire wireless system over a Local Area Network (LAN) with the aid of the Tempest T-Desk software.

Tempest TMP-B224 Versatility:
The Tempest2400 BaseStation offers a Stage Announce (SA) output with a relay closure. This is ideal for use with Public Address Systems (PA), city-wide IFB transmitters, or virtually any application that can be triggered with a General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO).

Tempest TMP-B224 Modes:
Three modes of operation are available within each Tempest BaseStation:  Normal, Shared, and Split. This feature allows from five users to hundreds of users depending on configuration.

Tempest TMP-B224 Expandability:
Utilizing the Tempest system’s TDMA technology and proprietary ZSync™ technology, up to 11 BaseStations and 55 full-duplex wireless BeltStations (in Normal Mode) can be operated in close proximity to each other within the 2.4GHz band while maintaining excellent system performance. By switching to Shared Mode, an unlimited number of BeltStations can be connected to one BaseStation.

Tempest TMP-B224 ZSYNC TECHNOLOGY:
Available exclusively in the Tempest2400 products, ZSync is a synchronization option that requires the use of an external sync generator. ZSync provides a zero sync reference that coordinates the hopping patterns of all connected BaseStations. This has numerous positive effects. In Seamless Roaming configurations, this allows the BeltStations to know exactly what frequency a given BaseStation is operating on at any given time. This allows for very fast detection and switching from one BaseStation to another. ZSync is required for all Seamless Roaming applications. In addition to enabling fast detection and switching in Seamless Roaming systems, ZSync combats turn-on to turn-on variation in non-roaming applications. When BaseStations are turned on, the radios start to transmit on frequencies determined by their hopping patterns. ZSync technology ensures that there is a fixed relationship between all of the BaseStation radios every time the system is powered up, irrespective of random time variation in power-up sequences. Assuming that the Network Numbers for the BaseStations have been set properly, there will be virtually no unit-to-unit interference, even with up to 11 BaseStations in a Tempest2400 system utilizing Frequency Band 1. This is true for Seamless Roaming as well as non-roaming applications.

(5) Tempest 2.4GHz 2-Channel Wireless BeltStations (TMP-R224)

The TMP-R224 2-Channel wireless BeltStation functions in conjunction with the 2 or 4 Channel Tempest BaseStations. There are three separate modes of use for a BeltStation: Normal, Split and Shared. By toggling to Shared or Split Mode, an endless amount of BeltStations can be assigned to each BaseStation utilizing shared resources. Each BeltStation user can Talk/Listen on A and B or toggle between A and B in “Single Listen” mode at the same time. Volume is selected by changing the CH A or CH B rotary control. There are two Talk buttons on each BeltStation, one for each channel. The Talk button enables the microphone signal for the assigned intercom channels. Each Talk button has independent LED notification lights. The Talk button can be latch or be pressed momentarily. The Call button sends a 2-wire integrateable call signal to any wireless BeltStation and any hardwired intercom device on the intercom channel. BeltStations are supplied with a rechargeable Li-Polymer battery capable of beyond nine hours of use or can be powered by three Standard AA Alkaline batteries. Each BeltStation has its very own back-lit display and menu functions which enable settings to be adjusted at the BeltStation locally.

Tempest TMP-R224 Overview:

  • 2-Channel, complete-duplex BeltStation
  • 2.4GHz, license-free use
  • Dual Talk/Listen operation
  • Backlit LCD screen displays battery life, RF signal strength and more
  • Stage Announce output with relay closure
  • Lithium-Polymer rechargeable battery (or three Alkaline AA batteries)
  • Weather-resistant casing

Tempest TMP-R224 Audio:
Each full-duplex BeltStation establishes a unique audio path(point-to-point) with the associated 2 or 4 Channel BaseStation delivering an individualized mix minus signal to other BeltStations in the system. Therefore, each BeltStation can monitor a unique mix of intercom channels and other audio sources.

Tempest TMP-R224 Durability:
The 2-Channel BeltStations are made of a weather-resistant ABS co-polymer blend with a high performance polyurethane over-mold.

Tempest TMP-R224 Roaming:
Tempest2400 Seamless Roaming is the ability for one or more Tempest2400 BeltStations to move freely from one BaseStation to another without any intervention from the end user. This allows thenimplementation of a Tempest2400 wireless intercom system which can cover large areas with multiple zones or areas in a facility that would not be adequately supported by a single antenna installation. A BeltStation can roam between as many as 16 different BaseStations (coverage areas or zones). In addition, all Tempest operational modes (Normal, Shared and Split) are supported for seamless roaming operation.

Tempest TMP-R224 Roaming Features:

  • Seamless roaming of BeltStation between BaseStations
  • Supports Normal, Shared and Split Modes
  • Scalable architecture allows for seamless linked roaming zones
  • Seamless handoffs between roaming zones – automatic
